FEBRUARY 25, 2010

Stephen H. Cypen, Esq., Editor

1.         SHORT NEWSLETTER THIS WEEK:  Due to your editor’s recent knee surgery and his assistant’s taking the week off to recuperate from her 42nd anniversary  here at C&C (and prepare for the next 42???), this week’s edition will be short and sweet.

 2.            LOVE YOUR JOB:  If you really love your job, you will do what it takes to be good at your job.  That is what love does to you.  It causes you to become better.  If you are not doing that, you do not love your job at all.  You love going to that place where you hang out and they pay you for it.  The real key to success on the job is to be good at what you do.  Other things help.  They help a lot.  But they are not the key.  The real key to business success is to be good at what you do.  Excellence does not come just from enjoyment or passion or love or fun.  It comes from old-fashioned hard work.  Sweat changes things -- not hot air.  (In other words:  “Take this job and love it.”)  It’s Called Work for a Reason

 3.         LIFT THAT BARGE, TOTE THAT BALE:  Are you tired of sweating all over every piece of cardio equipment at the gym and still getting zero love from the scale?  You need more iron -- not in your diet, but in your hands.  According to statistics, a mere 21% of women strength train two or more times a week.  What you do not know:  when you skip the weight room, you lose out on the ultimate flab melter.  Those two sessions a week can reduce overall body fat by about three percentage points in just ten weeks, which translate to as much as three inches total off your waste and hips.  Even better, all that new muscle pays off in a long-term boost to your metabolism.  Women’s Health

 4.            IF FAMOUS CHARACTERS THROUGHOUT TIME HAD JEWISH MOTHERS:   BILL CLINTON'S JEWISH MOTHER:  “Well, at least she was a nice Jewish girl.”

 5.            FABULOUS RANDOM THOUGHTS:  I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

 6.            QUOTE OF THE WEEK:  “The penalty of success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you.”  Lady Astor
